1. dont talk down to me
2. you know something fun about art, and kind of a huge aspect of art… to, you know, re-imagine and reinvent things, not churn out exact replicas of what you see?? if everyone drew characters exactly as they’re presented, art would be mad boring and formulaic.
3. what you’re saying is that all art must be on-model. this is TRUE if you’re working for the company. if i was working for roosterteeth, i would stay with the current designs because that is a part of the job. however, i’m not and i can draw anything i want! there are no rules! (rt members have reblogged my stuff tho so i don’t think they’re mad at me changing the design!! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
4. copying a design exactly is not more important than representation. what the hell are you saying, “no amount of ‘we need representation and diversity’ will change the fact” - jesus, get a moral compass
5. when people change skin color and body type, they’re just saying “oh, wouldn’t this be cool/interesting?” and of course trying to diversify the designs. this isn’t a misunderstanding of the original designs - they undoubtedly understand that the characters don’t look like this in canon! - they’re just trying to have some fun with it and i don’t understand how changing something like skin color or body type is even remotely on par with changing personality.
